Woodlawn Estates is a Gothic Victorian Mansion that was once home to a brothel, then turned into a private residence, and then a nursing home!

Woodlawn Estates, formerly known as the Poyntz Place, started being build in 1848 and was completed in 1853 by Christian Schulz for his daughter Charlotte, and her husband, James Poyntz.  Little did they know this home would turn out to be a haven for restless, 

and some, unkind spirits.  

The house was built out of love, but then turned into a house of lust.  Once Charlotte and James left, the home became a brothel for weary travelers and barge workers traveling the Ohio River.  Eventually, the brothel closed and became a private residence again, and lastly,

a nursing home.  This home has truly seen all sorts of emotions and lives.
